I started doing work for private (non-commercial) clients in 2008, and since then have completed over 600 individual commissions. Over the course of those past 11+ years, I’ve refined that process, and created standards for myself about what it means to do a commission. When I take on a commission for a client, it must not just be based on a desire for something aesthetically fulfilling, but instead focused on fulfilling a need and equipping them to move forward in their life.
Below are a selection of some of my most significant client pieces, and the non-fiction stories that brought them into being.
A wine baptism administered by family and society, commemorating one’s sudden push to leadership. One cannot serve many people without first believing in their own abilities.
With a journey to Burning Man and an open mind, a red panda begins to shed the narrative of self-loathing inherited from his family.
In a journey to love others, what is at stake when we don’t take care of ourselves? Will our faith in higher powers equip us to navigate this dichotomy, or will our blind spots in faith unravel us?
The aggressive lights of a dystopian future dominate our eyes before giving us the chance to explore the dingy interiors of this cyberpunk hyena’s decrepit home.
A prayer to reconnect to the joys of world-building, lost in the depths of depression and apathy. This piece is for anyone wanting to fall in love with creative wonder and joy lost to a burnout.
A vibrant and intense portrait with an extra layer of stimulation under blacklight. A cosmic deer pierces your ego with their stare.
What is a giant in the face of an all-present God? Through an ambiguous sense of scale in a low point of view and abstracted environmental cues, this commission is a prayer for peace and righteousness from the perspective of macro furry art.
If we shed our performative qualities towards others, what is left? This cheetah represents the client’s journey towards self-actualizing for the self, rather than vying for others to deem them as worthy of interest.
A lifetime stuck between stress and healing of the physical and mental self, a wolverine reaches a sense of clarity. This art documents a moment of stability and presence, a hope of reentering such positive spaces in the future.
How much affirming sensual energy can an image hold without being overtly pornographic? With all due respect towards pornography, this image encourages our sexual tastes to plug into confidence and subtlety instead of a more ostentatious display.
A memento mori commission for Rainshadow, exploring what it means to pass between multiple realms of being.
